The warm day drew 23 shooters to compete in the Point Score Championship, won by Mark Ticehurst, and the final of the Tom Wild Memorial Trophy, won by Kyle Walton.
This year’s final of the Tom Wild Memorial was contested by five shooters: Nathan Power (Warren), Mark Meers (Coonamble), Brett Williamson (Warren), Kyle Walton (Warren) and Bruce Cottee (Narromine). In a show of true sportsmanship, finalists agreed to split the $550 prize money evenly. The final was won by Kyle Walton (14/14) with runner up Bruce Cottee (13/14).
The Tom Wild Memorial Trophy began in 1955 and is an annual handicap competition where a ‘possible’ (full event score) must be shot at one of the monthly club shoots to qualify for the October Final.
The only Grade Change on the weekend was Bruce Cosgrove, shooting >97% to move to AA Grade.
Warren Gun Club would like to thank shooters who travel to the club, with regulars now coming from Brewarrina, Coonamble, Narromine, Gilgandra and Lightning Ridge to shoot each month.
The Warren Gun Club shoots on the second Saturday of each month. The next club shoot is at 1pm on the 8 November. Further enquiries can be made by contacting Don Williamson or John Wild.
